Rich Delaney joined the Safe Water Network Board of Directors in 2008, and currently co-chairs the Program and Planning Committee, responsible for providing advice and guidance on operational challenges and the evaluation of solutions.
Rich recently retired from PepsiCo where he was Senior Vice President of Global Operations, responsible for the manufacturing of beverages and snacks worldwide. Rich has worked in over sixty countries and spent the bulk of his Pepsi career outside the United States. He oversaw the translation of PepsiCo standards and manufacturing processes into over one hundred different countries producing PepsiCo products.
Rich brings that PepsiCo capability of quality and cost control to Safe Water Network’s operations. Rich has contributed significant input into our water protocols, processes and training programs, and continues to work closely with our field teams to improve the model, simplify operations, and lower costs so that our model can be easily replicated by others.
During his time at PepsiCo Rich was also responsible for their global sustainability efforts including its environmental impact and conservation programs. Rich’s insights have helped Safe Water Network develop an effective water resource management program in both Ghana and India.
While at PepsiCo, Rich was a member of the Board of directors of the PepsiCo Foundation. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College, and remains active with the school, having served in a number of support positions including the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board for Engineering.
